AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected AoT Crossover for Holiday Season

In a surprising crossover event that breaks conventional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Disclosed

According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of banned rituals and monstrous transformations resonate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret sect.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Metamorphoses

The preview features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Items and Additional Content

Players who finish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana together with several artifacts concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:

This update also brings the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
