Legal authorities have announced that a ex- physician stands accused of committing sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were patients.
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A senior prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The charges come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
