NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates features text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available on designated networks for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six in the football calendar and following recent talk about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests were the amount of penalties both committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments meaning they essentially defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against Denver, who play overseas this weekend.

However it proved positive to see how Denver quarterback the rookie managed to have that deficit before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory by four points.

The Broncos have the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, and the Broncos won that contest.

They had effective strategies regarding disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily rushing more than four pass rushers instead they could position two LBs in the interior then drop them out and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said on a program how Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year well then excelled of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up significantly and new RB JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He's currently 5th league-wide for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love how the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos are a squad that wants to prioritize the run, since one can do a lot based on that approach. It slows down the pass rush while maintains in favourable down and distances.

It's also helped QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they lack the mobility as Nix. He boasts exceptional passing ability, a unique trait, and he's so athletic.

His strengths include his mobility, the capacity to throw on the run, and finding different arm angles to make throws as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws across the middle and over the corner.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got great poise under pressure and is not bothered by the blitz. He aims to avoid a sack as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains very decisive.

When you consistently run the ball it consumes the clock and makes the opponent to be on the field for longer, and when you have a mobile QB the defense must defend the field vertically and horizontally. It can be draining.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games at times and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can really develop him the way he wants to build it. I think it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a championship and now surpassed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed it all. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB aids shape him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you during difficult moments and build confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, that's a solid position to be in the AFC West. All they need is is maintain this path.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they should do versus the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.

New York have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, this is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

In their division, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are even with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could make a run at leading the division.

This hinges upon which form Kansas City shows up they face since the Broncos {beat|def
